‘Glow Up’ Meaning

What is a Glow Up?

Glow up – A Glow Up is a mental, physical, and an emotional transformation for the better. Glow Ups can be both natural or planned. As well as being gradual and permanent, or fast and temporary. (source: Urban Dictionary)

Glow Up Challenge

Create a glow up plan for yourself and create and stick to your very own glow up challenge rules. The best way to cement something into place is by rinse and repeat, especially if you do it for 21 days and even better for 60 days. By 60 days it’ll become habit. Give it a try for yourself. Start with small changes but just keep to it everyday.

This brings us to the glow-up challenge. For anyone wanting to know how to glow up in a week, we’ve put together a how to glow up list for you as well as a clean version of the same that you can print and complete yourself with your own personal goals (scroll down to the next section to bag your 7 day glow up checklist). Remember, rinse and repeat for 7 days and you’ll be wondering why you didn’t do this sooner. It really is that easy.

For those that have some more serious goals or perhaps want to work on something that isn’t feasible in just a week, we’ve developed the Haul of Fame 30 day glow up challenge for you (which is great to use as a Summer glow up checklist too).

Again we’ve included our own glow up tips on a 30 day chart and have also included a blank version so you can create your own personalised 30 day glow up challenge. Perhaps you just want to work on your mental health for 30 days first, if so – don’t forget to add some of our tips for glow ups below and then print another chart for when you want to work on how to physically glow up in 30 days. Or just mix everything into one 30 day challenge like our pre-made challenge below.

It’s entirely up to you how you take this challenge (whether you’re going for a Summer glow up or if you want to figure out how to glow up for school or a college glow up before the next semester) and what you choose to challenge yourself with.

The main thing is that you just start now. It’s never too late to glow up and improve yourself but (like anything else) you have to put the work in.

How to Have a Glow Up: Physically

The most popular question we’re always asked is how to glow up physically (including how to look prettier/how to look pretty all the time etc.) so we thought we’d kick off this glow up guide with how to glow up fast by starting on the outside.

Before we get into the crux of it, we just want to make it clear to our readers that you are all beautiful inside and out. Our human nature is programmed to always want more and think that the grass is always greener on the other side without realising that there are SO many people that wish they looked like you. So before you begin glowing up physically, it’s important to just accept and love your present self for who you are and how you look now.

1. Drink More Water

how-to-glow-up-overnight

If you’ve always wondered how to make your skin glow, we cannot stress how much an increased water intake will help you achieve that (and fast too) with the most radiant glow up your skin has ever seen.

Start by pushing yourself to drink more water than you usually do and try to get to at least 8 glasses a day (about 2 litres). As part of your glow up challenge, treat yourself to a cute water bottle and keep it with you at all times to constantly sip on throughout the day and keep track of your progress. If you like to drink cold/warm water, why not get yourself a vacuum water bottle to keep your drink cool/warm the whole day?

Staying hydrated is just the best way to glow from within. Drinking 2 litres of water a day is not only the answer to clear and glowing skin, but it’s also a great way to flush out all the toxins in your body and really does give your body the daily detox it needs.

Tips to glow up: Try this every morning when you wake up – make yourself a warm glass of water with lemon and a bit of honey. This will kickstart your body the right way and get your digestive system moving and ready to digest everything else that follows in the best way. Lemon and honey water is also the perfect morning detox too.

2. A Well Balanced Diet

glow up routine

The healthy glow up. If you’re wondering how to have a glow up, you may or may not be surprised that your diet plays a huge part in this.

Ever heard of the saying ‘you are what you eat’? Changing and improving your diet for the better is the best way to glow up as you will literally feel (and see) the difference instantly and in so many ways. A well balanced diet is not only good for your physical health but for your mental health too as there is a direct link between your stomach and your brain called the Gut-Brain Connection.

Your diet is one of the most vital steps to glow up as you’ll notice how everything from your overall mood, energy levels (the renowned Athletic Greens AG1 green powders are incredible for an energy boost, with many other health benefits!), skin and even thinking improves drastically!

Tips to glow up: Give it a try, instead of reaching for a sugary chocolate bar or cake, opt for a banana or any of your favourite fruits instead. Fruits are also so crucial for your skin and you’ll really notice the difference in your skin texture after a month of cutting down on sugars and increasing your fruit (and water!) intake.

3. Sleep

how-to-glow-up-physically

If you’re looking for easy ways to glow up, this is the easiest of them all (and it’s absolutely free!), and that’s sleep.

It’s called beauty sleep for a reason. If you’re wondering how to get a glow up (and fast), we cannot stress how much you need to improve and prioritise your sleep. So make sure that you’re getting between 7-9 hours of quality sleep a night.

Have you noticed how much bad sleep can take its toll on your appearance the following morning? Perhaps you were out partying till late, pulling all-nighters working/studying, or just had trouble actually falling asleep because you struggle to switch off your thoughts (sound familiar? Don’t worry we’ve all been there). The fact is, the next morning you’re usually met with very obvious eye bags, bloodshot and tired looking eyes and the feeling of groggy and sluggishness.

No doubt this will affect your mood and performance for the rest of the day and you’ll probably skip on your daily dose of exercise, then get home and pop a ready meal in the microwave because you’re too tired to cook a fresh nutritious meal for yourself. It’s a vicious circle and one that only you have the power to change.

To find out more about how to have a big glow up just by getting better sleep, have a read of this article ’10 reasons to get more sleep’ to learn more about why sleep is so crucial in your glow up journey.

4. Get Your Colors Done

how-to-glow-up-in-a-day

Yes this is a thing! There’s a big difference between fashion and style. Fashion is a trend and style is unique and personal to you. Getting your colors done is essentially a service where a color analyst assesses your individual skin tone (i.e. if you have zero idea what colors for olive skin tone are best for instance!), hair color, eye color and gets to work on finding the colors and shapes that are best suited to your unique features. A glow up of your wardrobe shall we say, that will completely enhance your overall look.

If you’re a fan of the compliment ‘that color really brings out your eyes’ then you’re about to get so many more once you’ve completely revamped your wardrobe with your brand new colors, ready for the new and improved you.

Check out House of Colour UK (now franchised in the US too!) who are leading experts in color and style analysis.

5. Invest in Your Skincare and Stick to a Daily Skincare Routine

how-to-glow-up-naturally

We’re here to tell you how to glow up and one of the best ways to glow up is to quite literally, glow.

It is such a great feeling when you’ve finally found the perfect family of skincare products for your skin type and concerns that actually work beautifully for you. The perfect face wash that doesn’t strip your skin, the most buttery cleansing balm that melts your make up right off and leaves your skin feeling like silk even after washing.

Everyone wants great skin and so many also dream of leaving the house without makeup whilst still looking fresh and radiant (and most of all confident in their own skin).

Nail your skincare and perfect your skincare glow up routine and you’re one step closer to the ultimate glow up of your life.

6. Learn How To Wear Makeup Properly (and How Not To!)

how-to-have-a-glow-up

A lot of you will be wondering how to have a glow up in one day and it’s so easy. Get yourself to a salon for a brand new haircut, hair color, full body wax and get your eyebrows shaped and then finally invest in some great makeup for everyday use. Nothing crazy just enough to build yourself a great minimalist makeup routine with the best minimal makeup products to maintain that brand new glow up.

There’s nothing worse than seeing someone wearing the completely wrong shade of foundation, a blusher shade that just isn’t doing it for them, or someone that’s over filled their brows. Watch some makeup tutorials on Youtube, invest in some good makeup brushes and sponges (and obviously some seriously good makeup) and get a color match done with a makeup consultant (in person ideally) for your foundation and concealer shades.

Findation is a really great online resource to get you the best and closest color match for a new foundation. All you have to do is key in your existing foundation brand and shade and it gets to work to find you your color match for practically every makeup brand you could imagine.

7. Eat Your Vitamins

how-to-get-a-glow-up

In addition to a well balanced diet, don’t skip on your vitamins. It’s just a nice extra boost for your immune system and also a way to fill in any gaps in your nutritional intake for the day. So if you want to glow up, don’t skip on your daily multivitamin.

As well as multivitamins, probiotics are also an excellent supplement to take. Probiotics are made up of good bacteria that counteract and help fight off any bad bacteria that your body may have too much of. Not only will probiotics help generally with gut health including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) but it will also help with inflammation and allergies as well as providing a further added boost to your immune system.

8. Haircare and Hair Removal

glow-up-tips

Wondering what to do to glow up like a queen? Invest in the crown you wear everyday that is your hair! We’re talking sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, hair oils and deep conditioning treatments, detangling hairbrushes (you can discover our top picks here) and the best hair tools and products.

Get yourself to a hair salon too to get rid of those dead ends and change up your usual hairstyle to something that suits your face shape and makes your hair look fuller and healthier. Whether it be a bob, long bob, long layers, feathers, a side swept fringe, there’s no better way to glow up than an all new crown.

You might even want to change up your hair color and these days there are so many colors to experiment with. All over hair colors, balayage, highlights, low lights, ombre hair, unicorn/mermaid hair. Just check out Pinterest for inspiration and show your hair stylist/colorist so they get an idea of what you like.

Also we can’t forget to mention facial and body hair too as the absence of body hair really does make the biggest difference when glowing up and just makes you look and feel fresh and clean. You’re also not limited to wearing certain outfits like a cute dress, cropped jeans.

Glow up tips for girls: Book yourself in to a beauty salon for a waxing appointment. In terms of maintenance from there onwards, you can just shave regularly at home or return to the salon to get waxed if you prefer it. We’d just recommend starting with a wax as the finish is so clean and it takes on average 4-6 weeks for regrowth to occur. Or you could explore investing in laser hair removal too which we’ve touched on below.

Our top picks:

When it comes to facial hair there are so many options for hair removal. If you, like many women suffer from dark facial hair with very obvious sideburns, a moustache and unibrow (been there!), you can either get yourself to a reputable laser hair removal clinic and discuss the packages that would be best suited for you and your areas of concern as well as the best laser for your hair color and skin color.

In between laser sessions you will be asked to shave the areas being treated rather than pluck or remove the hair from the root to ensure that the hair follicle is still there and ready to be zapped at your next laser session. Laser hair removal cost does not come cheap but it definitely is an investment for the future.

Alternatively ask your beauty therapist to wax or thread your areas of concern as she thinks best.

Don’t forget to get your eyebrows shaped and threaded too as this makes the BIGGEST difference to your face and will significantly glow up your face as a whole. Brows really do frame our face so it’s so important to get them done right!

If you’re looking to grow your eyebrows out before getting them shaped, rub on a little castor oil to speed up the process. Invest in some good sharp tweezers and eyebrow scissors so you can pluck any regrowth and maintain your brows as and when you can.

9. Dental Care

how do you get a glow up

Give your smile the glow up it deserves. Make an appointment with your dentist for a check up and a dental hygienist for a good clean. Invest in a good electric toothbrush to maintain your dental health and look into getting teeth whitening done. Your dentist can arrange for a teeth whitening kit for you to take home with some made to measure mouth trays or perhaps go down the laser teeth whitening route.

You could also opt for teeth whitening strips as a cheaper alternative, just make sure you avoid colorful foods/habits that can potentially stain your teeth e.g. tea and coffee (herbal teas are fine), red wine, curries and even smoking is known to heavily stain teeth (and cause gum disease too).

Don’t forget the basic rules of dental hygiene which are to brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily too. Mouthwash is a bonus for killing all the bacteria in your mouth and tongue especially.

Let’s get you that million-dollar smile and one of the best glow ups you’ve ever had!

Our top picks:

10. Exercise and Posture

how-to-glow-up-mentally

Remember that famous line in Legally Blonde? ‘Exercise releases endorphins and endorphins make people happy!’. Elle Woods was spot on and exercise really does make people happy inside and out. After a session of exercise you instantly feel a sense of achievement and accomplishment and really feel like you’ve done well by your body.

For a body glow up, try and get any form of exercise in 3-5 times a week. Whether it’s your favourite sport or a workout at the gym or a yoga or pilates class. There are so many great Youtube videos which you can follow from the comfort of your own home and they are of course free too so there really isn’t any excuse not to get your daily dose of exercise in!

Remember stick to something for 21 days and after that it’ll be extremely hard to break the habit. You’ll see that regular exercise of some sort will also automatically improve your posture as you’ll become more conscious of when you start slouching. So just remember straight back, chest out, shoulders back. You can also purchase some great posture straps to pull your shoulders back throughout the day to maintain a good posture.

Skipping is such a good form of cardio exercise not only for your heart but for coordination and mental health too. Yoga and pilates is really great for strengthening your core as well as for balance too (not to mention what those lower glute exercises can achieve too!). Some of our favourite Youtubers to watch for body glow ups are Yoga with Adriene (we’ve linked her most viewed video below so you can give it a try right away!) and Blogilates (insanely popular Pilates Youtuber) and Pamela Reif (the BEST at-home workouts).

11. Smile and Laugh More

how to get a glow up

Above all, just smile and laugh more (you’ll be wanting to do this more anyway after your smile glow up!) another form of endorphin release that will lower stress levels and just make your overall mindset a lot happier and calmer.

Practice laughter therapy with your family and friends. Literally just sit in a room and burst out laughing for absolutely no reason and just watch how contagious laughter is. Before you know it the whole room will be laughing and the entire energy of the room will have completely transformed with more positive vibrations.

How to Glow Up Mentally

The second stage of glowing up is based on how to have a glow up mentally which will come entirely from fixing our mental head space (and will be much more deeply rooted in us to ensure that our glow up actually lasts!). We can work on our outer self as much as possible but if we fail to improve our mental health and our inner self we will never fully take that leap forward as a whole and truly glow up.

Mental health is so incredibly important as it is responsible for the way we feel, the way our thinking process is programmed and also the way we ultimately act and take action.

After implementing any one of the below practices on how to mentally glow up, you’ll really see a massive change on your outlook almost instantly. With mental health, it’s the tiny changes that are done repetitively and frequently (ideally on a daily basis) that will make the biggest impact in your life in the short and long run.

12. Morning Routine

glow up

A well-known fact of every billionaire and successful person on earth is that they all swear by their morning routine and generally their morning habits.

A lot of the practices that follow below are practices that the likes of Jeff Bezos (CEO of Amazon) and Elon Musk (co-founder of Paypal and Tesla) and other highly influential individuals like Arianna Huffington and Warren Buffett adopt on a daily basis.

To nail your morning routine and begin phase 1 of glowing up mentally we want you to:

  • Wake up at the same time every morning (ideally between 5-7am)
  • Make your bed straight away (this may sound strange but it really does set you up for the rest of the day)
  • Start your morning with water (not coffee) that is ideally warm with lemon and honey. If that’s too extra for you for now that’s ok, just water alone is totally fine or with a slice of lemon for a quick detox.
  • Meditate
  • Get in 20 minutes of exercise (cario, yoga, pilates)

We’ve found a great article about some common morning habits of highly successful people that we know you’ll love.

Check out this video too!

13. Personal Development (podcasts, books, videos)

We’re a big fan of this one. We have so much valuable information at our fingertips that literally has the ability to change our lives for the better, but we just don’t make time for it. Books and audiobooks, Youtube videos and podcasts (our personal favourite) are such an incredible resource to listen to and learn from while we’re carrying on with our day to day chores.

Just pop on some headphones and keep a podcast playing in the background (we highly recommend Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast). For avid readers, we’ve included some of the best selling personal development books of all time below that will really help you glow up into a bad-ass go getter (you’ve got this!).

Always strive to be a better version of yourself, not better than anyone else. Sure, it’s great to get inspiration from some of the greats of the world, but just becoming better than the person you were yesterday will be the biggest step you will ever take in your journey to glowing up.

Our top picks:

14. Meditation

how to glo up

Another essential ritual practiced by the greats of the world that you need to incorporate into your morning routine to glow up mentally is meditation.

The practice of meditation is so powerful especially first thing in the morning when the rest of the world is asleep. This is our chance to really reflect. The opportunity to concentrate on nothing but ourselves, our breathing and clearing our mind of any and all thoughts.

The daily practice of meditation has the ability to help us glow up in ways we never knew possible. From becoming a kinder, less anxious person, reducing stress levels, increasing our self-awareness and just generally strengthening our mental wellbeing.

15. Journaling

There really needs to be more hype around the beautiful practice of journaling.

Journaling is simply the process of writing down your feelings, your goals, what you’re grateful for, what you’re looking forward to, your worries and so on. The process of physically writing down your thoughts and getting them on paper really feels like a massive weight lifted from your mind and allows you to actually see everything going through your mind.

There are so many incredible gratitude journals in particular that really set you up for the day, increasing positivity, confidence, self-esteem and overall happiness. The 5 minute journal is a favourite of ours as well as the likes of Emma Watson, Tim Ferris (author of best selling book ‘The 4-Hour Workweek’), Riverdale star Camila Mendes and Smart Passive Income guru and entrepreneur Pat Flynn.  There are numerous studies that show that people who keep a journal of any sort and especially those that practice daily gratitude have significantly better mental health than those who don’t.

Journaling is another daily practice of many of the highly influential people of the world. So let’s take a leaf from their book and get journaling too as part of our journey to glowing up.

16. Therapy

glow up challenge

Therapy for your mental health should be as important to you as booking a doctors appointment is for addressing any physical ailments you’re facing. Keen to learn how to have a mental glow up with therapy? Keep on reading!

If you’re feeling down or if there’s any sort of emotional stress you are facing that you feel is creating an obstacle or block in your mental health from moving forward or progressing in any way, see a therapist.

There is absolutely no shame or embarrassment in getting therapy and only those who have explored therapy or counselling will appreciate how much good it does for our mental health. Just having someone on neutral territory that we can talk to about everything going through our mind and someone that is trained and educated to not only listen to these issues we’re facing but to help us address them, face them and ultimately overcome them with effective techniques and practices.

Whether you’re struggling with your confidence and inability to come out of your shell due to having a constant guard up, or if you’re struggling to deal with the loss of a close friend/relative, or if you have a fear that is stopping you from doing something – there are SO many different forms of therapy to explore to help you deal with your emotions and psychological struggles.

One of our favourite forms of therapy is CBT – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which helps you navigate negative thinking and train your thought process to better manage negative emotions before or upon a trigger event.

Therapy is a wonderful way to get a mental health glow up as you’ll be overcoming fears, challenges and obstacles that are engrained in your mind and therapy will play a huge role in your glow up transformation particularly in relation to your thought process, for a healthier and more positive new and improved you.

Read more about what cognitive behavioural therapy is.

17. Surround Yourself With Your People

how to glow up for school

There is a saying that goes ‘you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with’ and ‘you are the company you keep’.

Look for people that you can form deep and meaningful relationships with that are not only an absolute pleasure to be around, but people that truly inspire you to become a better version of yourself and are also there for you to help you and support you to glow up into the person you want to become.

There is a Jay Shetty podcast titled ‘8 Types of People You Need in Your Life For 2022’. This is such a wonderful podcast to listen to and will instantly open your eyes by helping you identify your people (and the people that just aren’t of any value to you or your life) and also help you attract the right sorts of people in life too.

Remove toxic people that somehow always seem to make you take 10 steps back just as you’re progressing. Whether its constant gossiping or complaining about the same thing every time you meet, or a relationship that you find is just very one sided and extremely draining. Remove or distance yourself from the likes of these people and just focus all your energy on cultivating new and healthy intentional and meaningful relationships with the right people. That’s how you glow up healthy the right way.

Your cheerleaders. Your people.

18. Manifestation/Law of Attraction

The definition of manifestation is essentially the belief that you can make something happen or attract something into your life through your beliefs, actions, thought process and daily feelings through The Law of Attraction.

The concept of manifestation first came about in the world-renowned best selling book ‘The Secret’ which has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. You must essentially live and breathe whatever it is you are wanting to attract into your life and keep this want at the forefront of your mind every single day so that you continue to take action to get closer and closer to your goals.

The manifesting methods used in The Secret will essentially teach you how to get a major glow up of your life by manifesting your thoughts into things and attracting everything that you’ve ever wanted into your life. Whether its money, love, your dream home, better health, leaving your 9-5 to pursue a passion or hobby you’ve always dreamt of, we all have the power to bring any of these things in abundance into our lives simply by attracting it and ultimately creating a life we love.

The great secret of life is the law of attraction. The law of attraction can also be called the law of creation. In other words, life is not happening to you, you are creating it. - The Secret, Rhonda Byrne

Our top picks:

19. Affirmations for Positivity

Getting into the practice of reciting positive affirmations out loud will give you the instant boost and motivation you need to feel like the superstar that you are, get things done or remove any negative thoughts or emotion from your mind. Again this goes back to the Law of Attraction.

By practicing daily affirmations for a few minutes at least twice a day, you are fuelling the neural pathways in your brain by training your mind to believe in the affirmations, creating a more positive and optimist mindset.

If you tell yourself enough times that you are worthy, you will surely start to believe it and feel it and consequently treat yourself better and realise that you deserve to be treated better as a result by others around you. This understanding of your self worth will play a huge role in increasing your self-esteem, reducing stress, and improving your overall outlook on yourself and those around you too.

The Self Fulfilling Prophecy is a powerful theory that arises from a positive or negative expectation of someone, which can therefore affect their behaviour in a way that leads to that expectation becoming a reality.

So by practicing even one affirmation for positivity, you are increasing your own expectations of yourself and you will quickly notice how your behaviour and way of life will start to mirror that expectation resulting in that initial expectation/affirmation soon becoming a reality.

It is therefore so important to understand that the same goes the opposite way. By having negative thoughts and expectations of yourself, you are likely to start behaving in a negative way and not feeling worthy of certain things.

It is not too late to change and the best daily practice you can do to realise your self worth and create positive change is by practicing words of affirmation.

There are also affirmations for kids which is such a wonderful practice for children to get into when they are younger so they get into the habit of loving themselves and learning about and believing in their own worth.

20. Setting Goals

how to make yourself prettier overnight, how do i glow up?

Set your goals for the week/month/year and write these down ahead of time to keep track of and try to stay on top of them. Maybe there’s something in particular you’d like to achieve or create a habit of in your before 30 bucket list?

The feeling of ticking certain tasks off your list or achieving certain personal goals (e.g. waking up at 5am/drinking more water/reading more/meditating/exercising daily) will make you stronger and make you more driven to continue such practices and create new goals that you can achieve because now you know you’re capable. You’ll be well on your way to glowing up your life and creating a life you love in no time.

Last of all, as part of your 7 day or 30 day glow up challenge (or even 21 day glow up challenge!), the best way to stay focused and on track of your goals and truly appreciate your progress to glowing up is to reduce your screen time especially when it comes to social media.

Track how much time you spend on social media on your phone (for iPhone users go to settings > screen time > see all activity) and be more conscious of the amount of time you are spending on social media platforms like Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, Youtube or Twitter.

Perhaps give yourself a little reward at the end of the day of browsing on social media once you’ve completed your goals for the day, or maybe a 10 minute slot in the middle of the day to quickly catch up before you get back to working on yourself and your goals. Just be careful as we all know that social media can quickly become a downward spiral and before you know it hours have passed and you’ve not moved an inch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you glow up in a month?

Wondering how to glow up in a month and if it’s even possible? It sure is and we’ve got you. After reading this article, print out our Haul of Fame 30 Day Glow Up Challenge and follow the steps to have a glow up strictly for 30 days and get ready to meet the new and improved you. We are so excited for you! As you’ve probably established by now, there are so many things to do to glow up and we’ve gone over what we feel are the best ways to glow up but it’s entirely up to you to choose where and how to start.

Can you glow up in your 30s?

Don’t let anyone tell you that it is too late to glow up. You can glow up at absolutely any age whether its 18, your 20s or even your 50s. There is always room for improvement in ourselves and there is no time like the present to work on yourself physically and mentally for the ultimate glow up. It doesn’t matter when you glow up or how old (or young) you are when you do, just take the steps in this article and start now. The main thing is that you make it happen and stick to it and create the life and you that you love.

Can you glow up in 2 weeks?

Yes! Write down on a piece of paper exactly what it is you want to glow up in 2 weeks. Are you looking to just glow up physically by getting a completely new look and new wardrobe? If so, that’s totally fine and of course achievable in 2 weeks (you could probably get it all done in 2 days at the most!).

If you’re looking to really glow up your life as a whole on a more deeper level by glowing up physically and mentally, yes the first steps in the right direction can totally be done in 2 weeks but it won’t start to become a habit until 21 days of continued practice.

We would therefore recommend taking our 30 day glow up challenge for optimum results and then just rinse and repeat (so it becomes a 60 day glow up challenge, then 90 days and then forever!), continually after that so that the practices in your new lifestyle eventually become habits that are very hard to break.

What age do you normally glow up?/How to glow up naturally

Probably the most common questions we get asked are ‘when does a glow up happen?’ or ‘do you glow up naturally?’ and our simple answer is, whenever you choose to make it happen. Of course many of us have a natural glow up in what is usually termed as ‘blossoming’ during our puberty years and beyond but then with puberty comes the joys of teen acne and the need to invest more time in personal hygiene. This is why in order to get the ultimate glow up of your life, you need to actively take steps in glowing up intentionally and focusing on all the important aspects of glowing up physically and mentally so that you’ve covered all bases.

Is it too late to glow up?

No. As mentioned previously, it is never too late to glow up. Ever. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You are in control of your looks, body, thoughts, feelings and emotions and ultimately your life. So go ahead and create the life of your dreams and glow up as and when YOU want to and are ready.

A glow up of your physical self essentially addresses the common question asked being ‘how to look prettier’. We’ve covered glowing up your teeth and your smile, getting in a daily dose of exercise, improving your diet and your water intake (2 litres a day is a must for glowing up your skin), giving your wardrobe a glow up and getting your colors done, investing in a good skincare regime and so much more.

Even more important than looking good generally is obviously feeling good too. Yes, you will notice that you’ll already have a massive boost in confidence when you’re looking better than ever, but trust us when we say that you are about to feel better than ever before once you’ve given your mental health the glow up it deserves too. From meditation and journaling, therapy and manifesting through The Law of Attraction, you have the ability to glow up your entire life and create the life of your dreams simply through your thoughts and your mindset.

We can’t wait to hear all about your glow up journey and would love to know what daily practices listed in this article you’ve enjoyed most and that you feel have helped you glow up to your best ever self and achieve your ultimate glow up goals.

This guide was all about how to glow up physically and mentally, as we believe that the key to having the glow up of your life is to focus on both your physical as well as your mental self (and not just one or the other).

So there you have it, everything you need to know to answer that million dollar question ‘how do you get a glow up?’. So if you were wondering how to have a glow up, physically or mentally, overnight or in one week (or even put yourself up to our 30 day glow up challenge, or create one of your very own using our printable templates), now you know exactly what you need to do! Remember though, always start with gratitude for your current self before you begin your glow up journey. Keep on shining!
